

She was born April 19, 1937, in Washington DC., a daughter of George and Florence Crouch Childress.
Mrs. Quinn grew up in Taylorsville, North Carolina. She worked at Swayne’s Steak House in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where she met her future husband. In her younger years, she was very involved with her children’s activities. She was involved in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Mrs. Quinn was a member of Calvary Christian Center, and worked as a restaurateur, and owned and operated her own catering company. She was most known for her country fried steak and gravy, and cornbread. Mrs. Quinn enjoyed going to the beach and enjoyed throwing party’s at her husband’s expense. She loved traveling all over the world to Greece, Israel, Mexico, and the Cayman Islands just to name a few. She was a born again Christian, and loved camping and spending time with her children. The last 10 years of her working career, she worked at the Duvall Home in DeLand taking care of handicap children.
Her husband of 45 years James D. Quinn, whom she married April 11, 1961, passed away July 1, 2006.
She leaves two children, Sharon (Chris) Lipka of Apopka, Anthony “Tony” Quinn of South Daytona; two grandchildren, Nicole Laporte and Joshua Laporte.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Lee Edens.
Family and friends will be received Monday, March 25, 2024, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 North Nova Road in Ormond Beach, where services will take place at 2:00 PM. Entombment will take place following the service at Volusia Memorial Park.
