Our beautiful mother passed away peacefully in her sleep in her Ormond Beach home on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Barb devoted her life to raising, loving, and supporting her six children, spoiling fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren with her husband, Bud (deceased), at her side for 59 years. She grew up in Rochester, New York, with her sisters Mary, Joan, and brother Richard. In July of 1950, she married John (Bud) Dineen and began raising a large Irish Catholic family from Corning, Delmar, and Penfield, New York, to Ormond Beach, Florida. Barb didn’t like attention and preferred to listen to the day to day happenings of her children, sisters, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Barb later studied art and enjoyed creating various works, from theorem painting to sewing projects that were beautiful and luckily now reside in many of our homes.
Barb is the last of her generation in our family and enters heaven joining departed loved ones: parents, Richard and Elizabeth (Murphy) Meyering, husband John “Bud” Dineen, siblings Mary, Joan and Richard, cousin Eileen and many others.
Barb is survived by her children: Marty (Marianne) Dineen of Florida, Patricia Dineen of North Carolina, James (Whitney) Dineen of Oregon, Elizabeth (Dean) Crone of Maryland, John (fiancée, Beth Howard) Dineen of New York, Barbara (Richard) Brown of Maryland, grandchildren; Kevin (Maggie) Dineen, Michael (fiancée, Chelci Owen) Dineen, Katie (Chris) Raby, LCDR Marty (Juliana) Dineen Jr., Lauren (Spencer) Manley, Ryan Dineen, Abby (Sean) Borden, Marcie (Sean) Harrington, Madeline Brown, Bridget Brown, Rachel Crone, Zoe Brown, Anna Dineen, Faith Dineen and great-grandchildren; Connor, Owen, Vitoria, Charlotte, Liam, Cal, Spencer, Adaire and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Ormond Beach, Florida at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 12, with visitation at 2:30 in the chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Volusia Memorial Park in Ormond Beach.
A memorial mass will be held in Rochester, New York at a later date.
