Ann Alethe LaCorte (93) of Port Orange passed away Saturday March 24, 2018, peacefully at home with her family. Born March 4, 1925 in Buffalo, NY, Ann was the daughter of John McCrillis and Helen (Hall).
Ann was married to her late husband Cosimo “Red” LaCorte for 68 years prior to his passing in 2012. During WWII, while Red fought abroad, Ann worked at the Belle Aircraft Factory before going to school to become a teacher. She worked as a lifelong educator; earning a Master’s of Science from The Canisius College of Buffalo. After retirement, she and Red moved to Florida, where she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and The Florida Button Society. Ann loved animals and left behind her faithful canine companion, Buddy. She is survived by her daughter Alethe Allen, son in law, Chris Hornung, grandson’s, John Robert “Robby” Pasternak (Chelsea) and Ricky Pasternak (Ashley), granddaughter Cathy Hornung (Scott) and great grandson, Reef Pasternak. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Red LaCorte and daughter Linda LaCorte (Hornung). A graveside service will be held at Volusia Memorial Park in Ormond Beach on Wednesday March 28, 2018.
