Vera Euler, 95, of East Orleans, transitioned peacefully from this world at her home on June 17, 2024. She now joins her parents, John Marchison and Helen Hrinko Marchison, nine siblings (Anna, Julia, John, Helen, Mary, Olga, Elizabeth [Betty], Irene, and Susan), and her husbands, Frank Hedrich, Jack Hamer, and Robert Euler. She is survived by her sister Jean Maison (Edison, NJ), two daughters, Nancy Hamer Eisenhauer (Stephen Eisenhauer), Center Valley, PA, and Judy Hamer (Stephen Hedberg), East Orleans, MA. She is also survived by her two grandsons whom she adored, Joshua Eisenhauer (Sara Marchese) of Neive, Italy, and Zachary Eisenhauer (Alexandra Furman), of Akron, New York, and her beloved great granddaughter, Sofia Marchese Eisenhauer. A second great-grandchild, John Marchese Eisenhauer, is expected in August.
Vera was born in a small farmhouse in East Millstone, NJ. She loved to tell stories of her early life as she participated in farm chores (tamping down the fresh hay in the barn while wearing a dress so the prickly grains scratched her legs), swimming in the local canal, and waiting eagerly to have the “pot cheese” her mother was making. She happily drove almost four hours to visit her young grandsons in central Pennsylvania so that she could spend time with them on their own farm, retelling her early stories and creating new stories and memories with them as they explored their world and the adventures of farm life. In recent years she enjoyed spending time with her dear friend, Gary Kilpinski (Orleans, MA) and relaxing on her porch enjoying the fresh Cape Cod sea air. She loved to laugh and tell new stories about the birds coming to her bird-feeder as she watched them with her furry friend, Aly.
Vera experienced heartbreaking tragedies from childhood through adulthood but had the remarkable ability to greet each day with a smile. She was incredibly energetic and positive, sending happiness and joy to those she encountered daily for over 95 years! She will be greatly missed but her stories and our memories of her will continue through the ages!
