7/27/1925 – 7/11/2015
Safely home. On July 11, Ruth passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus. She had full confidence in the Bible’s promises.
Ruth was born to Angeline and Howard Brink II on her grandfather’s farm in Glenham, near Fishkill, NY. In 1943 she graduated Beacon, NY High School. Ruth worked as an RN after graduating from Cochran School of Nursing, St. John’s Hospital, Yonkers, NY. During World War II, she was a member of the Nurse Corps, which ran the U.S. hospitals during the war. On July 4, 1946, Ruth married George I. Mosher, WWII pilot.
Ruth was a Public Health Nurse in the Hudson Valley, NY area for many years. She commuted to NYC evenings by train, working toward a BS degree at NYU.
In 19 70, Ruth and family moved to Colorado Springs, CO. There her passion for quilting, knitting and all forms of needlepoint blossomed. She co-owned the Nine Patch Quilt Shop, taught quilting classes, designed and sold patterns, and made many amazing quilts. Several of her quilts were on display in the Colorado State Capitol. Samples of her work are in the Colorado Springs Museum. In 1992, Ruth was elected into the Colorado Quilting Council’s Hall of Fame. After George retired from Federal Service, Ruth and George started spending two months every winter in Kauai, Hawaii.
Ruth moved to Cape Cod in 2007. She worshipped at Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church. Ruth attended Women’s Bible Studies and formed a knitting group. In 2011, Ruth moved to Broadreach’s Victorian Assisted Living and then to Liberty Commons. At both residences she enjoyed superior, loving care.
George predeceased Ruth in 2002. Ruth will be dearly missed by daughters Nancy Maczko and husband Dave, Brewster, MA and Sharon Bradley and husband James, the Villages, FL; and sons Tim Mosher and wife Pam, and Mark Mosher and wife Jeanne, both of Louisville, CO.
Ruth loved and took joy in her grandchildren Lisa, Kristin, Jon, Ryan, Sean, Matthew, Elizabeth, and Christopher; and her great-granddaughters Ellie, Helene, Maddie, and Hannah.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held Sunday, Nov. 22 at 2:30 PM at Brewster Baptist Church.
