Robert Henderson passed away peacefully with family by his side at the age of 80 at McCarthy Care Center on December 15, 2018. Born in Salem, MA to Fredrick and Helen (Cooper) Henderson he grew up in Lynn, MA. Bob graduated from Lynn Vocational Technical Institute in 1955. He was first in his class and went on to become the youngest licensed Journeyman Electrician in the state of Massachusetts. Bob is survived by his daughter Stacey Henderson, granddaughter Jaelyn, longtime companion Dale Clay and many close friends and family.
Bob entered the Navy in 1961, served on the submarine USS Tench 417 until 1966 at which time he married Judith (Kelley) Henderson and moved to Brewster, MA. In 1969, he became a member of The Brewster Fire Department. Bob was a charter member of The Brewster Sportsman Club and a lifelong member of the NRA.
Bob taught Electrical Shop at the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School for 15 years until his retirement in 1999. He was known fondly by his students as “Mr. H.”
Bob enjoyed playing the keyboards, dowsing and was an avid hunter and marksman. He liked all outdoor sports such as boating, fishing, camping, scuba diving, snowmobiling and riding his Gold Wing and ATV.
Memorial visitation will be held at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA on Saturday January 19th from 1-3pm with a prayer service at 2:15pm. A private family burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
