Paul Herbert Carlson

Eastham- Paul Herbert Carlson, 81, of Eastham passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on September 7, 2017. He was born in Worcester on October 10, 1935; the son of the late Roland and Hildur Carlson, his brother Alden Carlson predeceased him. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Suzanne Carlson, her children and grandchildren, his son Brian Carlson of Chatham, his daughter Jill Erickson and her husband Bradford and granddaughter Jinean of Jefferson. He also leaves many friends who have been there for him, as he was for them. Everyone enjoyed his sense of humor and easy going nature. He was a great father and friend and will be missed by all. Paul was a graduate of Commerce High School class of 1955. He served in the Naval Reserves. He was employed by Norton Company as a customer service representative for 32 years, and then he was laid off. He later worked for Elegant Entries/ Great Canadian Canoe, I.C.E., and as a handy man helping people with odd jobs around the neighborhood. He lived in Greendale before getting married and moving to Paxton where he raised his two children. Later in life he lived in East Douglas with his current wife, and then built a house in Eastham, where he spent summers since childhood. Paul was a proud member of the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts as a Master Mason for over 45 years. He loved spending time with his family, the many dogs that he’s had, sailing, bowling, puttering on household projects, and having coffee and conversations with his friends. He was always a caregiver, Thank you to his many friends for their care and concern, and the team of nurses who helped care for him when he was in need. Visiting hours will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., September 16, 2017 with a Masonic Service at 5 PM in the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Parkway, Orleans, MA.
