Paul Patten Brown, 88, passed away on April 8, 2024. Paul was born in Providence, RI on February 22, 1936 to Christopher and Marion (Poulsen) Brown. He graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon in 1954 and from Brown University in 1958 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, he continued his education receiving his MBA from UCONN.
Paul was employed at United Technologies Research Center as an aeronautical engineer specializing in wind tunnel and jet fuel research for 37 years.
Paul was an avid boater and fisherman enjoying membership in the Cape Cod Power Squadron. He was a hockey enthusiast , playing in high school, college and was a referee for 35 years. Additionally, he supported Elder Services, delivering for Meals on Wheels for over 20 years, as well as, preparing tax returns in support of others in AARP's tax assistance program.
Paul was an active member of the Wapping Community Church of South Windsor, CT, and then the Eastham United Method Church of Cape Cod. He served as a deacon and member of the board of finance, and sang in the choir. His devotion never wavered.
Paul's passing was preceded by Barbara Louise Carpenter whom he wed in Newman Congregational Church in Rumford RI on September 25, 1956.
Paul leaves behind two sons, Paul C. Brown of South Windsor CT, Mark S. Brown of Orleans, MA, a daughter Laurie J. Brown of East Windsor, CT, a sister, Christy Brown Cahill, as well as, two grandchildren Stephen and Kelly Brown and one great grandson Liam Santibanez.
A memorial service will be conducted for Paul at 1:00 PM on May 25th at the Eastham United Methodist Church located at 3200 State Highway in Eastham, MA for all who wish to attend. Interment will be conducted privately at the discretion of Paul's family.
