Lore W. Werner

At age 9, Lore’s 500 mile solo train trips to boarding school in Austria began her life of fierce independence and intelligence, leading her to travel alone to America, reside in New York and Pennsylvania and attend University before meeting her future love, Heinz. She lived in Brewster, MA, served her church Trinity Lutheran, and worked for Westies Shoes as bookkeeper, accountant and management advisor for nearly 50 years until the year of her passing.

Lore’s greatest gift was her love for God and her steadfast prayers for those she loved; most notably her late husband, Dr. Heinz Joachim Werner, her goddaughter Heather Bienz, and her best friend Hilde Solonar.

Lore was a true gift to everyone she touched. She created a loving family through her community and leaves behind close friends and loved ones: most dearly Hilde and her daughter Corinne Solanar-Kong of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Heather and her husband Scott Bienz and their children Evann and Luke of Marion, MA; Barbara and Al Eaton and their family of Harwich, MA; Carl and Lynne Nyman of Eastham, MA; Doreen and Todd Philie and their children Dominic and Samuel of Mattapoisett, MA; Ann Belsito of Yarmouthport, MA; the entire congregation of Trinity Lutheran, her caregivers and the many others who were blessed to have known Lore.

There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster, MA with a luncheon there to follow.
