John Beck

John is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen (Baer), his daughter, Kathleen Schrock of Eastham, and his son, Michael Beck (Stephanie Musto) of Portland, CT. He will be greatly missed by his grandsons, Rockwell Schrock (Jessica Cosgrove) and Cooper Beck.

John was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War while serving in the Merchant Marine and the US Navy. After his service, John and Helen raised their children in Denville, NJ. Working for NJ Bell Telephone from 1953-1986, John made fast friends with his co-workers and was still in touch with many of them. Being an avid Jets fan, John and his friends also had Jets season passes for fifteen years.

Moving to Cape Cod in 1986, John quickly made another circle of friends – the fishermen. Each morning at the Hole In One (Eastham), plans were made for the surf-fishing spot of the day, followed by a sunset meeting at Sunken Meadow to plan the next day’s events.

John was predeceased by his siblings, Dorothy, Muriel and Robert, and his son-in-law, Chris Schrock.
