She grew up on Cape Cod, attended Nauset High School and continued her education at Pine Manor College in Newton, MA. Jess was a gentle soul with a passion for animals, especially her beloved Kitty. She had a deep creativity that showed in her love of fashion, reading, design, and writing. A talented baker with a sweet tooth, she could usually be found in the kitchen with sprinkles and pink glitter. She found joy in the simple things life had to offer like beach drives, late night conversations, laughing with friends, silly TV shows, and time with family.
She will be missed dearly by many but will be remembered in every bottle of Daisy by Marc Jacobs, every fully blossomed pink cherry tree, every Skaket Beach sunset, and in one of her favorite quotes "And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you, because the greatest secrets are hidden in the most unlikely of places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it."
She leaves her father, Alfred Franz of Riverton, CT; brother, Andrew Franz of Brewster, MA; her best friend, Sadie Peno of Northampton, MA; aunts Donna Lucente of North Branford, CT; Sharon (Lucente) Pilz of Falls Village, CT; Elizabeth (Franz) Sabatino and her husband Ronald, of Sandwich, MA; uncle, Edward Lucente and his wife Karen, of Vernon, CT; many cousins and friends.
Burial will be private. Jessica's family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the ASPCA https://secure.aspca.org/donate/memorial or ASPCA, 424 E. 92nd St, New York, NY 10128-6804
