Francis E. Kane, 82 of Orleans, went to Heaven peacefully on October 12 after a brief illness. He leaves behind his three daughters, Carrie Kane, Sallie Kane-Bilbo and Courtney Kane-O’Donnell and their Mother and his friend Carolyn Strakele, 8 Grandchildren including Emmett Bilbo who had a special bond with his Papa, 3 great grandchildren, many cousins and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his two sons Michael and Matthew and his two sons in law Tom Bilbo and Jack O’Donnell.
His Lifelong love of all things Ocean and Sea lead him on many adventures, Including sailing his John Alden Wooden Schooner the “Heart’s Desire”. He was a well-known Custom Builder and crafted many beautiful homes on the Cape and Islands. He was a Veteran of the US Army and The Marine Corp and a member of the Carpenters Union Local 33 for over 50 years.
His Service will be held on Monday October 30th at 11 am at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Orleans, with burial immediately following at Orleans Cemetery on Tonset Road.
