East Orleans - Ernest C. Dubois died peacefully on November 3, 2010 at age 79. Ernie was born in Williamstown, Ma. to Ernest and Almeda Dubois. He is survived by his ten children, Deborah Warren and her husband Jack of Clarksburg, MA., Wendy Dubois of Bernardston, MA., Jenny Lefebvre of Saco, ME., John Dubois and his wife Karen of South Orleans, MA., Amy Rice and her husband Peter of Brewster, MA., Stephen Dubois and his wife Pam of South Orleans, MA., Paul Dubois of Norfolk, MA., Tracy Dubois of Brewster, MA., Jeffrey Dubois and his wife Kelly of Orleans, MA., and Joseph Dubois and his fiance Kim Willard of Wellfleet, MA. Ernie is also survived by a sister, Helen Horsman of Monument Beach, MA., a brother, Gerald Dubois of Richmond, MA. and his beloved cousin, Gloria Card of Williamstown, MA. Ernie was blessed with 23 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
In 1961, Ernie founded E.C. Dubois and Sons, a foundation company in Williamstown. In 1971, he moved his family to Eastham and continued his business on the Cape. When Ernie retired his sons took over the business and continue to run it today. Ernie will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, willingness to lend a hand to those in need and for his love of family and friends. He was a devoted Patriots, Celtics and Red Sox fan. His motto was, “The only thing more satisfying than a Red Sox win is a Yankee loss.” Ernie enjoyed his time with the boys and friends at Art’s camp.
Visiting hours will be at Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans on Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 3-5 p.m. Burial will be private.
Ernie was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jill Hanzalik and her infant son Chase last April. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the JEHH Memorial Fund which was established in their honor.
