Diane Carol Kellberg

Diane Carole (Wallace) Kellberg passed on March 8, 2021 at Cape Cod Hospital. She was born on May 30, 1934 in New Brunswick, NJ. She was the daughter of Helen Jean Brooks and Charles Edwin Wallace, of NJ. Diane graduated from Union College and Parsons School of Design. She met Myron H.W. Kellberg at Union College, after his 2 years Army Service. He graduated as an Engineer from Lafayette, and they were married on August 23, 1958, one day before his birthday. Diane worked professionally as an administrator with the Special Ed Department of Weston Public Schools. She then worked as Office Manager in the Communications Dept. at George Mason University, which she loved. Here on Cape Cod, she spent 13 years as a State Ombudsman for Barnstable County, and received the “Ombudsman of the Year” Award. Her clients and staff were unanimous in their love and gratitude for her tireless service, and the love she gave, the pains she eased. Diane took Horticulture, Master Gardener, Literature, and other courses at CCCC. She was a lifelong practicing Christian and active member of the Chatham Methodist church, here on the Cape. Diane loved gardening, the beach, traveling, and being with her family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Myron, her sister Joan Katherine (Wallace) Reeves of NC, and her daughter Claudia who calls her “The sun in my sky”. A Funeral Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 569 Main St, Chatham, MA 02633 on Monday, March 15 at 11AM. Burial will be private.
