Derek Taylor

Derek Leland (Czaplicki) Taylor, a lifelong resident of Brewster, died unexpectedly on August 18. He was the much loved and loving son of Michael and Jennifer Taylor of Brewster and beloved brother of Miles Taylor.

He loved music, exploring the woods and ponds of Cape Cod, history, sharing ideas and information with others, landscaping, skateboarding and shooting hoops with his buddies. He was proud of his Polish, Irish and Native America heritage. He was a funny and very caring young man. He was a proud employee of Stop and Shop of Orleans for the past two years.

Derek leaves behind his adoring grandmother, Margaret Taylor of Orleans, his caring great-aunt, Claire Csaplicki of Hyannis, his dear aunts and uncles: Jennifer Taylor and her husband Leo Seletsky of Orleans, Patricia Vargo and her husband Bob of OH, Elizabeth Martel and her husband Greg of WA, and Deborah Dyer and her husband Jan of OH. He will be truly missed by his loving cousins: Abby, Jacob, Claire, Marcus, Elizabeth Bridget, Katie Jane, Steven, Alicia, and Aaron. He is also survived by his second family the Conley/Donahues of Brewster and his special cat, June Bug.
