He was born on February 23, 1929 in Lynn, MA. He was the son of the late Arthur and Addie May Stanley. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School, and attended Fitchburg State, receiving his teaching certificate for high school machine shop courses. Charles resided in Lynn, Danvers and Byfield all for many years before retiring to Brewster, MA in 1996. He was a United States Army Air Corp veteran serving in World War II. He worked as a machinist at GE, and Raytheon in the aerospace industry for many years. He retired from Boston University as head of the CAD CAM Lab in the School of Engineering.
Charlie was a member of the Captain’s Golf Course in Brewster. He was a longtime golfer. He enjoyed making and repairing golf clubs for family and friends. A life-long avid reader. He enjoyed taking long walks, especially in NH, in the area of Newfound Lake at the family cottage.
Besides his wife Patricia, he is survived by his four sons, Michael, Brian, Dean, and Kevin, his daughter Kathy Orr, his bothers Arthur, Donald , and Albert, his sister Patricia Anketell, grandchildren, Michelle and Gabrielle Stanley, Veronica Sweeney, and Elizabeth Stanley, great-granddaughter, Isis Nelson, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Barbara Corso.
His visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24th from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. followed by his service at 2p.m. in the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA.
