Orleans has lost another of its Senior Citizens. Anne Riley, 91 died March 14th after a brief illness. She was born September 6, 1920 in Bristol Ct., where she resided and raised her family until her husband, the late Joseph “Sarge” Riley and she retired to South Orleans. In the early years of her retirement, she worked part time for the Mid Cape Center and also for the Cove Motel in Orleans. She was currently a volunteer at the Cape and Island Emergency Service Thrift Shop. She is survived by her son Christopher of Weston, Ct. and South Orleans, her daughter JoAnn and son in law Tony Lossio of Medford, MA, her granddaughters Suzanna and Jenna Lossio, her brothers John McCusker of Bristol, Ct and J. Leonard McCusker of Sugar Hill, New Hampshire, and four nieces. She was pre-deceased by her beloved twin sons, Colin and Garret Riley, whose death she endured with dignity and courage. As requested by the deceased, there will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be held at the St. Joan of Arc Church in Orleans on Tuesday March 20, 2012 at 10am. In lieu of condolences or flowers, donations may be made to the Provincetown AIDS Support Group, Bradford St., Provincetown, MA. Please specify, “for food and transportation.”
