He was born on August 4, 1935 in McKeesport, PA., the son of the late Edward and Catherine (Whitney) Giles. William served in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1965. Afterward, he worked as a police officer in Albany, GA. William went on to work as a driver for Trailways for 25 years, followed by working as an electrician for the Orange County Convention Center, retiring in 2014. He loved golf, traveling and especially spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Giles, his children; Debbie Giles Grieshaber and her husband Al of Newnan, GA, Edward Baxter Giles of Sarasota, Shane Saunders and his wife Meg of Modesto, CA and Tara Heintz of Orlando, Grandchildren; Tiffany Palmer, Matt Giles, Jay Timmons, Destiny Timmons, Rachel Homza and Ayden Follero, two great grandchildren; Donovan Hayes and Jaxton Giles, two brothers; Edward Giles of West Mifflin, PA and Tom Giles of Ocala, his sister, Catherine Sebastain of Mckeesport, PA and his beloved caregiver, Breyanna Morrison of Orlando. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Dennis Michael Giles and five brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at South Orlando Baptist Church, 11513 South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, Fl 32837. Burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Orlando Baptist Church, 11513 South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, Fl 32837 or to the Orlando Union Rescue Mission, 1521 West Washington St., Orlando, FL 32805.
