Sandra “Sandy” Kay Davis unexpectedly passed away in the evening of April 10, 2016, while surrounded by family. Sandy was born in Augusta, Georgia, on December 17, 1952, to James and Sarah Davis. She graduated from Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1974 with an RN in Emergency Nursing. Sandy dedicated her nursing career to saving the lives of the most critically ill patients in the emergency and critical care departments. Sandy excelled at being a nurse and found so much joy in taking care of others and helping families through difficult times. When bedside nursing became too physically demanding, Sandy transitioned into the role of being a Clinical Monitor for clinical trials. Even during her busiest times working; she still always made the time to return home to care for her family. As the oldest child, Sandy, was a natural born leader and nurturer. Sandy loved her family above all; never missing a holiday gathering, family reunion, wedding, or any time where family was gathering. Sandy’s greatest enjoyment came from time at the beach where she loved walking early in the morning and watching the sun rise over the ocean. Cruising was her favorite type of vacation and time on the water always made her feel at peace. Sandy was a loving sister, daughter, and a best friend to many. She touched many lives with her positive attitude and energy for life. Sandy believed that we all have guardian angels; and now we know that we all have one more guardian angel watching over us. She will be deeply missed by all. Sandy is survived by her mother, Sarah Davis; her brother, James Davis (Clara); her sister, Tracy Davis (Jeff); her nephew, Joshua Davis (Kristina); her niece, Nicole Wills (Bennett); her niece, Stephanie Davis; great niece and nephew, Savannah and Warner; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, beloved friends, and a pot of coffee. She is predeceased by her father, James Davis. A viewing will be held on April 16, 2016, from 1:00 o’clock p.m. to 3:00 o’clock p.m. at the Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home located at 5800 Hansel Ave., Orlando, Florida 32809.
