On the fourth of August 1931, in Chicago, IL, Rose Marie Crosby was born, the sixth of seven children of Daniel and Ella Bell Crosby. Her three brothers and three sisters along with their spouses and many of their children all preceded her in death. As she grew, she made many friends, was an excellent student, and enjoyed performing as a majorette until graduating from Sable High School.
She also loved to dance and boy, did she have the moves. As time went on, she met and married the love of her life, Roosevelt (Bob) Robinson. They remained married to this day. Of this union two children were born Sheila Denise and Anthony Douglas, each of whom gifted her with grand children. Julius (Grunch) Conway and Angela (Pinky) Johnson each of whom added great grand children to the growing family. Julius added Brandon, Junee Rosemarie, and Jevon Rasheed, Angela added Rakim. Julius also added his wonderful wife Nicole and her three children Vonique, Kyera, and Trevor along with their three children.
Before leaving Chicago, she retired in management from Illinois Bell Telephone Company. She was also very involved in her book club and held office in various St. Joachim Church ministries for many years. After deciding they were fed up with Chicago winters, she and Bob moved to Orlando where the weather was much better for them. Once there, they continued to prosper. She made many new and lasting friendships. Through these friendships she was able to enjoy taking many craft classes and learning new skills and hobbies. She and Bob also frequently traveled to many places both throughout the United States and numerous other countries around the world. She definitely loved checking out new places and cultures. She spent over eighteen years volunteering at Florida Hospital and was one of the original pioneers for the development of Holy Cross Catholic Church where she led the Coalition for the Homeless Ministry for many years along with her involvement in several other ministries.
As her health began to fail, she had the unfailing love and care from her grandson Julius, his wife Nicole, great grandson Jevon, great grand daughter Junee and Vonique, (Nicole's daughter) who worked tirelessly to provide the assistance she needed to keep her surroundings as pleasant and comforting as possible. There were also many treasured neighbors and friends too numerous to individually name, who provided various meals, and tons of visits and moral support. Her family will be forever indebted to each and every one of them.
She truly leaves behind a legacy of love and caring, with all whose lives she
touched: all her remaining family (nieces , nephews, cousins, and in-laws), friends, and neighbors, church family, care givers, along with numerous acquaintances. Many will miss her beautiful smile, warm words of encouragement, laughs and just great conversation.
