Roger Lebron Williams. 54 of Orlando, Fl, born February 1, 1957, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 26th, 2011. Born in Lafayette Georgia, and raised in Ball Ground and Carrollton, Georgia, he moved to Villa Rica Georgia. in 1973 where he met his high school sweetheart, Rebecca Rush. They were married in 1974 and lived in various cities in Georgia over the next 15 years where he spent many enjoyable hours hunting and fishing in the beautiful woods and lakes of Georgia. He was such an avid sportsman; he got into raising American Short Haired Pointers. Quail hunting became a favorite past-time.
He moved to Orlando with his Wife and son in 1989 where he continued in his trade as a Tool and Die Maker. Although he didn’t continue in the Bird Hunting that he loved, he discovered salt water fishing off the Pier in Sebastian Inlet and the beaches at Port Canaveral. Still needing the companion of a good bird dog, he got into raising Vizsla’s, turning them into the family pets.
As his son grew, he discovered the world of the Boy Scouts. He was the one who always made sure that everything got packed for the camping trips and helped with all the Scouts activities, especially the Pine Wood Derby. Because of his Tool and background, it was his challenge to design the fastest car.
When his daughter, Cassandra (Casey) was born, he discovered the joys of having a little girl, between her modeling, cheerleading and singing; he was always there with a camcorder and a proud papa smile.
Over the next few years health issues prevented him from doing a lot of the things he loved. So he occupied his time with raising rat terriers and studying herbs. There wasn’t a question you couldn’t ask about either that he didn’t know the answer. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it was cutting down limbs for a neighbor after Hurricane Charlie, or jumping off a car for stranded motorist, or giving herbal advice for whatever ails you when he saw someone pondering over what to buy.
In May of 2010 he sat up all night trying to save two pups that were in trouble. Only one survived. Her name was Little Bit. She was his pride and joy. She would dance for him and follow him every where. The day before Little Bit’s 1st birthday, she was hit by a car and didn’t make it. He was devastated.
Well on June 25th, the light came back into his eyes, when his beautiful granddaughter was born Miss Payton Alekzandra Hoffman. He was the proudest Grandpa you have ever seen. From that point on until the day he passed, she was his reason for getting up and facing a new day.
He was a loving husband and father. His greatest achievement in life was raising two beautiful children who grew into amazing adults, and best of all being called Grandpa.
Roger you will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rebecca Williams. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Shannon Leigh Williams. He is further survived by his son, Robert “Lee” Williams, his fiancé Angenid Reyes, his daughter, Cassandra Caitlin Hoffman and her husband Jon, and his granddaughter, Payton Alekzandra Hoffman. Survived also by his parents, Billy and Jean Williams, brothers, Brad, Wayne, Robin, and sister, Rhonda Kay McCartney and her husband Jim. His father-in-law, Forrest Rush, sisters-in-law Rachael Tarverdi and her husband Fred, Rhonda Rowley and her husband John, and brother in law Forrest “Randy” Rush. His nieces Krisama Whitley and Nina Rowley, his nephews, Kyle, Drew, Justin, Joshua, Charlie, Johnathan, Brandon, Brian, David and Daniel.
Viewing will be at Family Funeral Care, 13001 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, Fl. 32837, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 with services to directly follow.
