Goltz, Robert L. age 71, of Orlando, passed away June 23, 2011. He was born May 10, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI to Louis and Laura (nee Tebo) Goltz. Robert was a Marine Corp Veteran and treasured his time in the military and his service to his country. Before moving to Orlando, Robert worked for several years with the Monroe, Michigan, Police Department where he proudly served his community in several different law enforcement assignments. It was at the wedding of a fellow officer where he met his wife and soul mate, Sandi. The pair moved to Central Florida in 1976, and in 1978 Robert began working for Walt Disney World where he retired as Manager of Construction Services in 2005. He was a highly skilled craftsman and painter, and managed many large building projects at Disney World. Robert was an outstanding construction manager with a work ethic that was “second to none” and always contributed all of his talent to his exemplary work which is widespread at Disney World, the world’s most visited theme park.
Robert and Sandi were very involved in the rehabilitation of wildlife and spent a great deal of time creating a backyard wildlife habitat. Their love for wildlife lead them to open and operate their pet store, Petport, in Orlando from 1984-1991. Robert will be greatly missed by those who knew him, particularly his nephew Jeff, to whom his Uncle Bob was “larger than life”. He greatly influenced and guided Jeff to a very rewarding 20-year career in law enforcement at the Orlando Police Department. Robert was a very humble man who emulated commitment, pride, perseverance, and respect throughout his public service and private sector careers, and enjoyed very simple things in life: spending time with Sandi, tending to his yard, caring for many pets, and motorcycle rides.
