Thinking of Robert today. Forever in our hearts.

I miss your kindness,  your genuine personality, your practicality, and our long conversations. You touched so many lives even though you may not have thought so. I am sorry every day that your life was cut short. I think of you every day and miss you every day. Even though your spirit lives within us, life just isn't the same. Love you forever.

My heart goes out to all of the loves of Robert who I know are still grieving his loss.  I see his contact information in my email from time to time and my heart contracts for all of you. I don't delete it because I like being reminded. I lost my parents and my spouse when I was 48. Our loved ones live on in our memories of them. Love never dies. I barely knew Robert but even in his work relationships his sweet, witty spirit was evident. If any of his loves are reading this just know he is not forgotten.

It doesn't matter if we haven't seen each other since years, months or days. What is important is that you have made an impression in my heart and you will always remain there! Happy Birthday.

As I go into my eighth month without my friend and loved one Robert, I am reminded of his unique and infectious laugh, his quiet way, and thoughtful soul. Many special days and holidays have past without him and I still think of him every single day. Dear Robert, I take solace in the notion that your gentle soul is guiding me. Forever in my thoughts #79.

I just heard about Robert and was so saddened.  He was such a wonderful person and a joy to be around.  We raced with him on occasion and I know he will be greatly missed in the autocross community.

Thinking of the many people who are still grieving this loss and the many lives that Robert touched. As the grief is slowly turning into memories, I am blessed that I have so many happy memories of his kind and gentle spirit to cherish for now and the rest of my life.

It has been almost a month since you have been gone. I still think of you every single day and when 9pm comes around I feel an ache for the missing phone call. I miss your unique way of looking at the world and your friends and family still feel the loss. The autocross did not seem the same without you and the weekends for me have to be redefined. I think of Penny and Cindy and hope that they are coping the way you would want them to, but I know how hard it must be for them. You will always be my Sweet Racer Guy. Like you told me 4-ever.

My prayers are with all of Roberts Family and Friends. I only talked to him occationally and he was always so nice. You could feel his smile over the phone. I know he will be missed grately.

I never met Robert in person and only spoke with him a number of times on the telephone. We were discussing work related situations and the conversations were sometimes long due to the nature of the business. Robert came across to me as a gentle man. He was kind, sincere and humble. His knowledge exceeded mine greatly yet he listened intently and patiently as we shared information. Robert had a great attitude and quick wit. Working with him was pure pleasure.  My heart breaks for his family and friends as they struggle through this inconsolable journey. You are all in my prayers.

I did not know Robert very well, but I do remember his friendly nature. When I started at SunGard he was so kind and welcoming. He always had a smile when I would pass him in the halls or break room.

To Robert's family,  I knew Robert from work and for a while his office was next to mine.  But that was some years back and I've retired.  We didn't stay in touch and I'm sorry about that.  He was a really nice guy, and a true gentleman.  I was shocked to hear about the accident.  My deepest condolences and prayers go out for Robert and those he left to miss him.

As we celebrate Robert's life we must rejoice in the wonderful memories he has left us.  My dearest Kimmi, may your love and loyalty keep you strong during this time of sorrow.  Sweet Penny, I know your Father was proud of you and loved you very much.  I am grateful to have known Robert and happy my sister found such happiness with him.  Our family will certainly miss you!

I work remotely and every time I was in the office he made a point of coming to say Hello, visit with me and simply made me feel welcome. His kindness was always appreciated and I will miss seeing him during my trips to the office.

My deepest condolences to the Belvoir family. I remember Bob always walked around with a smile and his Star Trek lunch box. He was a very pleasant coworker!

I am most grateful for this darling man because he brought such joy and love to my beautiful sister, Kim. He was gentle and kind and loved her dearly. All who were blessed to have known him, sensed his gentle presence and quick humor. Thank you Robert for bringing so much light into Kim and my family's life. Someone in my family said, that Robert was so good he was just a little closer to heaven so he was taken sooner. It just leaves us all here a bit sadder from our loss of him.
Penny and Kim, we have all been lifted by the gift of your father and friend. I pray that you are both comforted by the love of family and friends and the warmth of your Robert's hand on your shoulder.

I only met Robert once when visiting my family in Florida.  And in that short visit, not only did I quickly come to understand why my Auntie Kim was beaming with happiness, but felt the love that they shared.  In their three years together they adventured near and far, enjoyed exhilarating experiences and all the while deepened their love and affection for one another.  Their joy and laughter was so infectious to those around.  I'm very sorry for Robert's family and my Aunt Kim.  What a tragedy! Robert you will be missed greatly!

Today was my first day back in the office since the loss of Robert.  I have honored him today by wearing a racing shirt, goofy socks, and having Moe's for lunch.  Robert, I hope you are enjoying your "tea time", "apple time", and "clean-up time" in heaven.  I will miss your man's point of view on personal relationships, and the quiet and kind way that you had about you.  I will cope with your absence in our cubicle by telling myself that you and Kim went to the Keys for the holidays, and just never came back.

Keep breaking the rules, Robert!

Kim, your whole family stand behind you with any support that you need. I know that your loss has devastated you, but no one can take away the love that Robert felt for you. He will always be with you.

Once upon a time there was a sad lady who moved to the magical land of the mouse from the cold white north. She cast her line into the pool of plenty of fish and the first catch who caught her line was very interesting indeed. The catch responded at first it seemed out of politeness because that was the kind of catch he was. Over several months she cast the line a few times toward his direction until one day he took the bait. She reeled him in with a movie and pizza. From that day forward nary a day went by that he did not contact her at the usual and regular time right after tv watching and before the shower between 9:00 and 9:06.
They traveled to many places Sebring, Atlanta, Alabama, Daytona, and Savannah for race events because this catch truly loved the sport of racing. She introduced him to her passion for travel. They journeyed to far off lands in private planes courteous of her cousin such as St Petersburg, St Augustine, and New Orleans. She convinced him to venture further to Hawaii where she really saw his childlike spirit. He ran up beaches and climbed volcanos and rode helicopters and visited remote waterfalls and stood eye to eye to Humpback whales and traversed the Hana Highway in a convertible, and hiked a canyon with a video camera in his hand.  He told her he loved her and was so incredibly happy to share this special time. He agreed to tour Italy as he was curious to see his mother's heritage. He toured Rome and the Vatican lingering in St Paul's Cathedral, though he was not religious he did embrace his faith. He took pictures in the Sistine chapel which was not allowed because sometimes he did break the rules. They toured the Collosseum where he was warned to quit straying into the forbidden areas because sometimes he did break the rules. They toured Venice in the freezing rain. He did not like the rain. This trip was magical because they never had cross words. 
They always treated each other with respect and generosity. They lived a quiet, comfortable life of silly dances to 1980's music and routines and rituals that were only theirs. The Saturday morning pancakes and sausages at Denny's and the walks after meals to release the air with musical burps. The outings with wonderful friends. The quiet days of piddling in the garage while she graded her papers and did her lesson plans. His endearing ritual of hand washing and collecting seemingly meaningless objects. His excitement over BBQ, baked beans, root beer and goofy socks only made her love him more.  There was speeding and frantic driving because sometimes he did break the rules. 
It was evident that although the two were very different, the chemistry and compatibility was noted by many. It was clear that two very sad people got together and made each happy. 
Then one day he didn't come back. She did not understand where or why he went, but she knew that having known him she was no longer sad and wretched. She was told he was in a better place where he would watch over her. She holds onto that thought because it is a good thought, and the only thought that makes sense. He was supposed to be here longer but sometimes he did break the rules.

Robert always had a smile.  He was very lighthearted and pleasant to be around.  We interacted often at work and I enjoyed his nice disposition and the way he was with those of us that worked with him.  He will be missed.

My deepest condolences to the Belvoir family and his closest friends on this tragic loss.  I have known Robert since the 3rd grade and he was always a kind and friendly spirit.  He will surely be missed and heaven has gained a strong angel.

Robert is a good and kind man. We talked during lunch in the break room. I remember the first time I met him, it was over his Star Trek lunch box. That is what started my conversations. I will miss him and that smile he always had on his face.

Over the years, I grew to appreciate Robert's role as the historian of the Martin Sports Car Club and caretaker of its legacy. Many saw it as racing; special people such as Robert saw it as relationships. He will be missed - a lot.

Ms. Belvoir ~ my family was on vacation in Orlando this week. My cousin Tabatha was on the Sky Trail with her husband and 5 year old daughter, on the children's trail,  just feet away, when your father fell. They were frantically trying to get their daughter loose, so they weren't able to help, but they are devastated by what happened. We want you to know that you and your family are in the hearts, thoughts, and prayers of our whole family.

Deepest condolences to the family of a great man who I did not know long at work, but who made an impression as a truly good soul.  He was kind and considerate and always had a smile even on a rainy Monday morning!  He will be missed.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Robert and I were in many classes together going all the way back to elementary school. He was always a fun, upbeat and above all, enthusiastic guy! Following his many activities on Facebook over the past few years leads me to believe that his was a life well lived. May many happy memories help to ease your pain and heal your hearts.

I worked closely with Robert at SunGard, and remember that he was a genuinely decent guy who adored his daughter and cared very much for his girlfriend.  He spoke very highly of both of them... was especially proud of his daughter's accomplishments and how she had turned out as a young adult.

It was obvious that car racing was his passionate hobby.  I will miss him at work very much.  My sincerest condolences to his family, friends and girlfriend.

   Robert William Belvoir is and will always be my brother.  From the day he was born, he was a gentle soul with a big heart.  While he was in elementary school, he began tinkering with bicycles and learning how things worked.  With his bright mind, he could have followed in our dad's footsteps as a mechanical engineer.  While Robert and I were in elementary school, our parents took us for pizza and let us drive at a go-cart track in Fern Park every so often.  Robert found his calling in a way, and did not know it at the time.  
   Our parents bought him a mini-bike, and he rode it in circles from our front yard to the back yard, over and over again.  He really looked like a cool kid and as he enjoyed his new toy.  In another year or two, he had a newer model and enjoyed it thoroughly.  
   Robert eventually joined the Martin Sports Car Club and was able to find great enjoyment and camaraderie with fellow racers with whom he became friends.  He talked me into racing with him at the Martin parking lot courses in the late 1980s, and I instantly knew why he loved the sport so much.  I was so proud of his talents, as a sharp and quick mind were necessary to safely compete, and Robert was always a safe racer.
   A few years later, my family was transferred across the country, and we didn't see each other often enough as we could or should have.  During that time, Robert and I had long and interesting conversations, sharing our joys and sorrows, always giving each other strength when we needed it.  We did have several get-togethers and family reunions, and I cherish those moments, as did Robert.  He loved his family dearly and was a loving son to our parents; a wonderful brother to me and my husband, Bob; a stellar father to Penny; a terrific cousin and nephew; a fun uncle; and a great friend.  His hilarious laugh was contagious as he laughed with people who understood his humor and great wit.  I always enjoyed seeing his funky socks, which became one of his trademarks.  
   I am so grateful to have spent time with him this past March and in October at the Historical Sports Car Races in Savannah.  I was amazed at his intensity as he geared up for the races, and loved to watch and photograph him as he drove by us.  He actually gave me a pass to drive him, Bob, and Kim on the laps a few times, and he was a skilled and articulate driving coach.  I will always cherish those memories.  
     Robert has good friends who sincerely love and care about him, and family who love and adore him.  I am blessed to have had him in my life on Earth.  Now, his spirit is with us always and we will continue to hold him dear and special in our hearts.  Life without him makes the world seem darker.

Rest in Peace, my sweet racer guy. You gave me Love and Peace wrapped me in your warmth and light and smoothed my jagged heart. Like you said 4 is forever. I love you forever.
