Peggy Metcalf Gibbons, 54, of St. Cloud, Florida, passed away on June 30, 2017, surrounded by her family that loved her. Peggy was born on March 17, 1963, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Joan and George Hicks. Peggy graduated from Turpin High school in 1981 and attended the University of Arkansas to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree for Rehabilitation for the blind. She continued her passion for helping people while working as a rehabilitation counselor for the blind. Along with her work, she also loved crafting, cooking and going to the beach, but above all else, she loved being with her family and friends, and her precious dog, Sundae. In April 1997, Peggy adopted her daughter, Savannah, who was the center of her world and a true treasure. Then in 2008, Peggy met the love of her life, Dixie, and they spent the next 9 years together; they were married on January 7, 2017.
Peggy is predeceased by her father, George Hicks, and her stepfather, Paul Regnold. She is survived by her loving wife, Dixie Gibbons, and her daughter, Savannah Boles, her mother, Joan Regnold, her sister, Jennifer Fender, and niece, Emily Fender. Also, her brother in law, Robert (Marilyn) Gibbons and her sister in law, Kathy Buster.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017, from 4:30-5:30pm with a service at 5:30pm, at Family Funeral Care in Orlando, Florida.
