Thanks for the memories, stories and advice. As life takes its course, we sometimes get too busy to stay in touch as often as we should. I am very guilty of that as our family is aware. Pedro would always go out of his way to stay in touch with me.  My intentions were always to reach out to him first but he would always be the first one to reach out to me.  Growing up with a single mother and my grandmother, there was never a father figure in my life.  I can truly say that Pedro was that person.  I didn't see him as often as I should have but I really appreciated the times that I did.  When I was young, I spent a lot of time in Florida with Pedro, Bilma and my cousins. I remember those time fondly and think about those times often as they will be with me for a lifetime.  Pedro would drag me to every flea market and swap meet in Florida and that's endless. I would complain all day long but I secretly sort of liked it and occasionally he would break down and buy me some used toy. He would also make me work in Bilma's Interiors doing all kinds of child labor.  When driving with my adult kids I often embarrass them by honking and waving at random strangers because, of course, Pedro always did that. To me Pedro was smart, funny and a great role model.  He would always tell me that the only friend you have is this, and he would pull a dollar out his pocket. (He was right.). He often said that if you work hard you will be succesfull in life.  I really believed that because he is proof of what he preached. I can go on about Pedro all day. I love you. You will be missed.

There are too many memories to list for my Uncle Pedro but a funny one occured when I was 12 years old (over 30 years ago).  My uncle always collected "something".  This year he was collecting "thimbles".  He asked me to accompany him as we journeyed to over 100 establishments and traversed over 4 miles in the hot summer and congestion of New York City.  In the distance, Uncle Pedro sees the Golden Arches and tells me "Hey Look, there's a McDonald's over there".  I'm tired, sweating through my clothes and starving.  I excitedly state, "Thank Goodness, I'm hungry!".  He quips; "Hungry nothing, we're going in there to get out of this heat and rest"!  My jaw dropped because he was dead serious.  Thank goodness he got me a happy meal.  I may not have survived the other 100 stores we visited on the second leg of that journey.  I did not mention the plethora of stories he told me that day.  I would not trade a second of that day or any moment I spent with him for anything.  Tio Pedro was, is and will forever be the MAN!  R.I.P Tio! Say hi to Mom, Tia Dinorah, Abuelo Pedro and Abuela Tina for me!  I love you!
