In Loving Memory of Patricia Ada Boyd “Patti” February 13, 1957 – May 13, 2016 Of Orlando, Florida was called home by our heavenly Father at the age of 59. Patti had a special relationship with each of us where we learned the values of hard work, custom, culture, unselfishness, giving and the love of Jesus and keeping faith. These values continued to play in her life as she practiced them as a wife, teacher, aunt and mentor to some. Public Service and Education: Patti’s true calling was to be an educator. She attended the University of Guam and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She embarked on a 16-year career as a teacher with the Guam Department of Education. She was a phenomenal educator. She has taught and touched the hearts and lives of hundreds of children as well as parents along the way. She devoted more than a 100% into her career. She continued her career in the United States where she taught for many more years. She was currently teaching for the Orange County Public Schools at Palmetto Elementary in Orange County, FL for over 10 years. She was loved and well liked. She also taught at the follow schools: Andresen Elementary School Capt. H. B. Price Elementary School St. James Catholic School Fairfax County Public Schools now known as Colin Powell Elementary School Port St. Lucie Elementary School Family and Faith: On July15, 1990, Patti got married to the man of her dreams Mr. Ray F. Boyd. He has become her family. They do not have any children of their own but Pat often said, she has all the children in the world she wants in her classroom each year. Teaching her children was her love and passion. Hugs were endless. Ray and Pat were married for 26 years. She shares, “My husband is one of my greatest blessings from God. His love is a gift that I open every day.” Personality and Passions Pat had the heartiest of personalities. Everyone loved her. There was always this sense of ease she gave you when you talked to her. She would listen to you, then give you advice. Her passion was teaching, playing the guitar, singing songs, photography, cooking and always being in the classroom with her students. She was fun to be with and full of laughter. Conclusion Unfortunately for us, we are here to mourn the loss of our wife, daughter, sister, aunt, best friend and colleague. As we celebrate Patti’s life, we know she has left a huge void in all of our lives. We all weren’t expecting the Lord to take her so soon. She always shares, “Enjoy every moment of your life. Life is too short to waste on grudges. Laugh when you can, apologize when you should and let go of what you can’t change.” Remember her for being a loving wife, remember her for the love she had for her students she called her “children,” remember her for her love of family, remember how she showed her love when you needed help, remember her for being a hard-worker, remember her for her smile, remember her for how she made you feel when she listened and talked to you. Patti we will be missing you always. You are now in the hands of God with your mom and brothers. We love you.
