On March 27, 2020, Mildred Hernandez got her wings and went to soar with the angels. She was just 65 years old, but Mildred lived a full life, filled with adventure, family, fun and love. She "did it right the first time, so she wouldn't have to do it again."
Mildred is survived by her husband of 47 years, Alberto, and was the mother of two children, Brian and Brigette, and had five grandchildren, who she adored. Mildred was also the proud sister of Laura and Gloria, and daughter of Emerita and Leonardo.
Though Mildred's health was failing for some time, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life and indomitable spirit to serve others, kept her pushing through the pain, and she always found a way to smile.
Mildred loved being a Puerto Rican-American and worked hard to ensure the culture and language of her native island were instilled in the next generation of her family. She believed in honoring the memories and values of those who struggled before her, and who opened more pathways of opportunity through heartfelt resiliency.
Mildred also loved movies, especially comedies and stories with Hallmark endings. While her family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her lively spirit, and her desire for laughter and joy, especially amid difficult times.
Please join us in a Celebration of Life Ceremony for Mildred on July 25, 2020 at 11 a.m., at the Worship & Praise Center, located at 14152 Boggy Creek Rd., Orlando, FL, 32824.
