Watson, Maxine L 03/10/1928 – 2/2/2016 With great sorrow the Watson family announces the passing of their matriarch. Maxine Watson, age 87 went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 2nd. Born and raised in Lebanon, IN by parents Fred Weber Sr and Anna May Coffin. Maxine married Verlin Watson in 1951, they had a happy and long marriage until his passing in 2005. A resident of Orlando for 54 years, Maxine and her husband were well known for the Old General Antique Store, in Pine Castle which opened in 1978. Everyone that met Maxine came to know a loving person that was always smiling, with an unwavering Christian faith. She enjoyed talking about her church, husband, daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the foundation of her life. Maxine loved traveling with her husband and the time she was able to spend with her family. The family virtues that Maxine and Verlin established will live on for generations beyond the great-grandchildren. Maxine’s love and compassion created strong family ties and wonderful memories; she will be deeply missed. Maxine is preceded in death by her husband - Verlin Watson, an infant son – Baby Boy Watson, a grandson - Christopher Crabb, and siblings - Fred Weber, Richard (Dick) Weber, Margurite Voorhis, Sue Doyal, and Sarah McCloud. She is survived by three daughters, all residing in Orlando, Nancy Strickland and her husband Woody, Tina Crabb and her husband Paul, Veronica Craig and her husband Jim, and three grandchildren - Jonathan Crabb and his wife Karen, Casey Carr and her husband Dan, Amanda Binns and her husband Bobby, and four great grandchildren - Kennedi, Colin, Caden, and Camryn. Visitation will be Friday February 5th, from 6pm to 9pm at Baldwin Fairchild Pine Castle Chapel on located at 5800 Hansel Ave, Orlando, Fl 32809. Funeral Services will be Saturday February 6th, 1pm at Southside Baptist Church located at 1720 Lake Margaret Dr, Orlando, Fl 32806. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. Jerry Glaze. Burial services will be at Greenwood Cemetery, 1603 Greenwood St, Orlando, Fl 32801. If preferred, in lieu of flowers, you may make your donation to the Southside Baptist Church.
