Margaret A. Brown, 96, passed away on May 4, 2018 in Kissimmee, Florida. She was born on June 11, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York to John McNally and Catherine O'Rourke McNally. Margaret is predeceased by her husband of 53 years James Brown, her children Wayne Brown and James Brown Jr. and her grandchildren Kyle Schuster, Christopher Schloder and Heather Brown. She is survived by her children Kathy McCosker, Mary Anne Schuster (Ken), Diane Bullen (Richard), Cindy Maier (Steve) and Iris Brown (Joe White) as well as her 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and friends who will miss her dearly.
Margaret was a gutsy, courageous, stay-at-home mother who had many passions in life, the greatest being her children. Margaret was the first in her family of 8 siblings to graduate from high school; because of this she knew the importance of education and always fought for her children to get into the best schools and keep their grades up. She herself was a voracious reader and was always trying to learn knew things. Besides her greatest joy of being a wife and mother, Margaret was also first generation Irish, a devout Catholic and a long-time Bridge Club member. In her spare time Margaret enjoyed gardening, decorating, entertaining and travelling the world. Margaret was able to experience in her life the wonder of travelling to Europe, Israel, South America, Mexico, several islands and many more.
A visitation will be held at Family Funeral Care in Orlando on Thursday, May 10 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. A Funeral Mass is set to take place at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Thursday, May 10 at 2:00 pm with a graveside service to follow at 3:30pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Gotha. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Margaret's name to maryqueenoftheuniverse.org/donations
