Marcos Tulio Colón, known to most of his family and friends as “Happy,” passed away on November 16, 2018, at the age of 58, after losing his battle with cancer. Born in New York City on March 29, 1960, he grew up in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, before moving to El Paso, Texas where he ran a prominent Puerto Rican restaurant for 15 years.
A warm and colorful soul, Marcos was known for his boisterous personality and his insistent aim to please everyone. He was quick to make a friend out of an unknown acquaintance, and make an impact on how they lived their life. He enjoyed traveling to his native land of Puerto Rico, as well as different parts of Mexico with family and friends always a part of the journey.
He is survived by his wife Veronica Colón who resides in El Paso, Texas; his three children, two step-children, and several nieces and nephews. His son Marcos Colón Jr. and wife Chelsea Colón live in Chicago, Ill. His daughter Valerie Chapa and husband Abraham Chapa reside in Plano, TX. And his daughter Alexandra Colón lives in Camuy, Puerto Rico.
Service will be conducted on Saturday, November 24 at 12 p.m. at the Baldwin Fairchild Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 2420 Harrell Rd. Orlando, FL 32817. Family will receive friends from 11 till time of service. Marcos will be laid to rest next to his father, Marco Tulio Colón Sr. at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill & Chapel Hill Cemetery in Orlando, Florida.
