Katia is survived by her mother, Idora Valentin. Her husband, Phito Pierre. Her children, Kayla Alysson Pierre along with Kayla’s husband Jonathan Alceac, Isadora Kesiah Pierre, and Andrew-Valentine Joel Pierre. Her siblings Saintana Valentin, Marc Remy Valentin, Dr. Eden’s Valentin, Gino Valentin, Stenio Valentin, Raymonde Cherubin, Dr. Gardy Valentin, Shirley Loriston, Dr. Sheilia Similien, and Bernadette Valentin, Marjorie Valentin Dorsainvil. Katia is preceded in death by her father, Stenio Valentin, and her brother, Emmanuel Valentin.
Katia was born on April 8th, 1968, in Saint-Marc, Haiti, to Stenio and Idora Valentin. Later, she moved to the United States in 1984 where she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in fashion design and a Master’s degree in education. Katia met her husband Phito in 1986, and they later solidified their loving bond through marriage on June 29th 1996. With time, the couple welcomed three children into their home Kayla, Isadora, and Andrew. Katia set about teaching them family values, education, and above all else, the importance of honoring Jehovah. Katia was known for being easygoing and for her catchy remarks; for example, when people would ask how she was doing, she would answer with a simple “ mwen pa piyay”. Katia’s children remember her as being brave, A servant of Jehovah, supportive, kind, funny, a great dancer, and the life of the party. Phito, her loving husband, was always by her side every step of the way.
Katia was a teacher and she dedicated her life's work to fostering the youth and building their confidence through education and literacy. Katia was an accomplished painter and often displayed her artwork wherever she could. This included the walls, ceilings, counters, and even mugs. She was a dedicated servant of Jehovah and was extremely proud to be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was passionate about spreading God’s word and spreading Jehovah’s good news. She made it her life mission to serve Jehovah faithfully to the very end. Whenever she would face difficult trials she would often quote this bible verse found at Philipians 4:6,7 “Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus”.
A wake is scheduled on April 4th at 7:00 pm at Imperial Design Hall 7468 West Colonial Drive Orlando Florida, 32818. A funeral service is scheduled for April 5th, 2025, at 12:30 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 1877 4th st, Orlando, FL 32824, with a reception to immediately follow at Imperial Design Hall 7468 West Colonial Drive, Orlando FL, 32818.
