Juan was born in Bani, Dominican Republic on October 14, 1938, to parents Pedro Pimentel and Juliana Peguero. He was raised in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. Alongside his siblings Dario, Jose, Mirian, Nilfa, Wilson and Bani. In January of 1962 Juan migrated to Manhattan, New York.
On February 19, 1972, Juan married Luz Medina Pimentel. Juan had five children Joan, Shahaira, Johnni, Estibenson, and Ray. The family moved from Manhattan to the Bronx in 1989, then settled in Orlando Florida in April of 1998. Juan had twelve grandchildren Ricky Ferington, Jordan Ferington, Shalimar D. McIntosh, Savannah K. McIntosh, Ramel T. McIntosh, Roman J. McIntosh, Yesenia M. Pimentel, Jasmine M. Vassallo, Natalie R. Pimentel, Nicholas J. Pimentel, Yadiel R. Pimentel, and Isabella M. Pimentel.
Along with five great grandchildren, Sebastian Ospina, Kaylani Vassallo, Elias Vassallo, McKenzie Swift-Caldwell, and Landon Swift-Caldwell.
Juan dearly loved his wife of 50 years, Luz Medina Pimentel. He had a zest for life, cherishing time spent with loved ones. He was a natural storyteller, always eager to recount memories and funny stories from the past. Evenings were often filled with laughter, with his favorite drink in hand, and a cigarette nearby. Juan spent over 30 years in the food service industry as a bartender. He loved baseball, enjoyed all types of comedies, and found peace in gardening.
A visitation for Juan will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817. A graveside service will occur Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2400 HARRELL RD, ORLANDO, FL 32817.
