M/Sgt. USAF Ret. Joseph Donald Silcox 86 of Orlando, Fl. passed away on Tuesday June 6 2017. Born in Pensacola, Fl. to John T. and Mary Etta (Wooten) Silcox. As a youngster he spent his time working in a dairy and at his father's bakery. He enlisted in the Army at 17 and took part in the German Occupation in WWII. Shortly after, he enlisted into the Air Force where he met his life long sweetheart while working with her brother in Germany. He married Olympia (Efstathiou) Silcox (Bebe) on June 9,1957 in her home town of Lowell, Ma. They enjoyed much travel with the military. He was an electronics specialist during the Vietnam war. Then retired after 20 years of Military service. He then went on to retire from the US Postal Service. He loved woodworking, fishing and camping with his family, which he considered his pride. He leaves his beloved wife of 60 years, Bebe Silcox, his two daughters, Susan (Silcox) McIntyre (Alan) of Greenwood, SC and Lori (Silcox) Riggs (Paul) of Hoover, Al; Grandchildren, Shauna (McIntyre) Randall of Greenwood, SC. And Cameron, John, and Olivia Riggs of Hoover, Al; Great grandchildren, Harrison and Maddison Randall; Sisters, Bonnie (Silcox) Kirin (Paul), Norma Johnson, Joyce Beasley; Brothers, Larry Silcox and James Farrow all of Milton, Fl. and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Cleo Delton and Alton Dudley Silcox and sister, Mary Alice (Silcox) Patrick; and grandsons Justin Randall and Brian McIntyre.
