He was born on July 9, 1927, in Miami and grew up in Miami. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved and remembered by all. He was a talented artist in his younger years. He graduated from Jackson High School. He served in the Navy at the end of World War II. He loved singing four part harmony and was a lifetime member of SPEBSQSA, He sang in many quartets and choruses over the years in Miami, Orlando and Baton Rouge, La. He was chosen Barbershopper of the year (BOTY) in 1964. He loved to play pool. He was a motorcycle cop on the beat in Miami and also rode a horse, Easter Moonshine as he performed his police duties on Miami Beach. He later opened his own pest control business for several years in Fort Lauderdale , DEAN OF PEST CONTROL. Many years later he moved to Orlando and married his second wife, Nina and started a pest control business, HARMONY PEST CONTROL.
He is survived by his second wife, Nina, her children, Laurie Horn of Ft. Myers and Kathy Casperson of Tampa. He is also survived by his children of his first wife Margie, deceased, and their children: Gail Gabriel, James Dean, and Melody Wasserman of Ft. Lauderdale.
He is survived by grandchildren: Lance Mayeux, Cristyn Hodges, Nicole Gonzalez, Jimmy Dean, Heather Meeks and husband Chris, Michael Backman and wife, Rachelle and Rachal Horn.
Great Grandchildren: Jackson Hodges, Mia Hodges, Brody Mayeux, Maryn Mayeux, Macey Mayeux, Magnus Gonzalez, Lila Gonzalez, Lainey Cain, Jaxson Cain, Nathan Meeks, Jaleigh Meeks, Charley Meeks and Kynzi Miles. As well as numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins from both surviving familes.
His Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 19th at 2 PM at Belle Isle Community Church (formerly known as Pinecastle United Methodist Church, 731 Fairlane Avenue ir Orlando.
