She was married to Forest Evans for 61 years before he died in 2005. She was a full-charge bookkeeper for Boone Sign Company for over 40 years. Together, Forest and Jeannette had 3 children: Randall William (deceased 1988); Pamela Yager Wood of Ocoee, FL and Angela Maxwell (Mike) of Canton, GA.
Grandbabies and Great Grandbabies were the loves of her life. She had 5 grandchildren: Michael Yager Jr (Patrice) of Titusville, FL; Kimberly Catrett (Dusty) of Winter Garden, FL; Benjamin Yager (deceased April 2023); Emily Lewis (Johnathan) of Adairsville, GA; and Justin Maxwell (Savannah) of Gainesville, GA. She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jeannette was saved early in her marriage to Forest, and faithfully attended Calvary Baptist Church and later New Hope Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida. Jeannette was the church Treasurer and children’s Sunday School Teacher. She LOVED teaching children and was known for giving prized silver dollars to children (and adults) who would memorize and recite all 66 books of the Bible. In recent years, she attended Hillcrest Baptist in Acworth, GA.
She will be missed for her unchanging loyalty; her quick, witty sense of humor; her impeccable style for dress and jewelry; her love of singing and worshiping the Lord; her love and devotion to her family; her wisdom based 100% on reliance on the Lord; and her heart of kindness. If you met her, you immediately loved her. She was a strong prayer warrior who leaves a legacy of faith for all her family to follow.
