Harriet Frances Girard, 84, of Orlando Fl. Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at her home on August 26, 2011 with family at her side. Born in Syracuse New York to parents Harold and Pearl Westcott she was married to Jean Louis Girard (Jerry) for 53 years until his passing in 2001. They retired to Orlando in 1976 and were members of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. As a proud wife of a naval officer and loving mother of eight children she cherished her family and made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed golfing and even achieved a hole in one. She was a talented cook, painter, and gardener and enjoyed numerous crafts. She also taught basket weaving and macramé classes for many years. Fran or Ms. G to the many who were blessed to have her in their lives is remembered for her kind heart, gentle smile and delightful sense of humor and was known on occasion to be a prankster dressing up in disguise for a good laugh with her friends at the Central Florida Kidney Center.
She is survived by six children and their families, Stephen (Patsy) Girard of Minneapolis, MN, Michael Girard and Colleen Girard of Townsend, TN, Kathleen (Charlie) Anderson of Winter Park, FL, Peter (Gayle) Girard and David (Michele) Girard of Orlando, FL; nine grandchildren, Thomas Girard, Joshua Heyman, Thomas Schellenberg, Stephen, Timothy and Travis Smith, Amanda Girard and Alexandrea and Manon Girard; Two great grandchildren Logan Girard and Ivan Smith. She is predeceased by husband Jerry, son Thomas, daughter Christine, and grandson Jeremy.

Funeral service will be at Blessed Trinity Catholic, 4545 East Anderson Road, Orlando, FL 32812-7397
On Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11:00am followed by Graveside Service at Woodlawn Cemetery.
