Mark and I were saddened to hear of your loss. We’d not seen Evelyn since our wedding in 1985. I have fond memories of her visiting Mum and Dad when Julie and I were around 8 and 9 years old, taking us out and introducing us to ice skating.  She was a beautiful Aunt.

Deepest condolences to you all.
The first time I met Evelyn was at her grandson’s funeral. She looked a small and fragile woman. A delicate hand squeezing her son’s that rested lightly on her shoulder. She looked so frail.
The second time I met Evelyn, I met the real Evelyn. We spent a couple hours chatting on her porch and looks can be deceiving. This was no frail, fragile woman. She was sharp, resilient, and independent. She did not mention nor sought pity for her daily life obstacles. Instead, told me about her family.
Her memory was astonishing. She spoke of her siblings, her siblings’ spouses, her nieces and nephews, their children and spouses, cousins- children and spouses. She remembered everyone’s occupations, homes, cars, addresses, pets- past, present, names and breeds. I was in awe.
She told me about her beautiful daughters- strong, smart women and so kind to her as were their husbands. She talked about her son, the devilish young boy who grew into a kind, independent, hard-working man who has done well for himself. She mentioned Daddy Sean and what a good husband he was and a good father to their children.
She gushed about her grandchildren. Their intelligence, talents, humors, and raised more like siblings than cousins. She was excited for the next generation, great grandchildren. 
Every introduction was accompanied by an amusing story, a heartwarming smile, and a musical laugh. There was nothing but pride and love for her family, it was palpable in her voice. She said she felt very blessed. 
The next few years, I witnessed her kindness. She called at least once a day to check on my recovery and asked after my mom every time we spoke. I watched her dote over her great grandchildren, getting so close to their faces just so she could see them clearly. She was so in love with them. 
How will I remember Evelyn? A sharp-minded woman who was “slightly” stubborn with a contagious smile, a whimsical laugh and a deep love and pride for her family.

I remember the days and times we spent together when I would have visited Orlando during the Summer Evelyn. It was lovely to have met you and enjoyed your company so much. We chatted endlessly enjoying the sunshine and became very good friends during those times. Rest peacefully my dear friend Evelyn.

Our Deepest sympathy to Annette and all her family on the loss of Evelyn.   She was a gentle kind, caring soul and helped me through my early years as a working mother.  ( Sometimes even tucking me back into bed and telling me not to bother going to work and have a rest instead.  )
