Grandpa, 
It's been 4 years since you have passed away. A lot has happened since you have been gone. I just graduated high school and will be going to Valencia to finish my AA degree. I will be majoring in Early Childhood Development and Education. I want to be a preschool teacher. I wish I could tell you all this in person to be able to hear your voice and get advice about life. I know mom misses you more every day that passes by. I wonder what it would be like if you were still here with us but healthy. I miss you more than anyone will ever know. I pray for the day I would be able to hear your voice just one more time. I love you forever & always.

I'm glad I was able to run into you a few times at the VA.  You were always making me laugh each and every time I saw you.I'll miss those little chits chats we would have when I'd see you there.... You will be missed my friend.... Till we meet again, so we can dance "UNA SALSA DE LAS BUENAS"!!!!

You were loved and you also loved. The time spent with us here on Earth was brought to a halt as were our hearts.. Receiving that call was a bitter start to a day but it was also sweet in the sense that I was able to live with the fact that you no longer had to deal with pain. The pain that the horrid disease gave you day in and day out.. The physical and emotional toll that it took on your body.. You may no longer be with us here in person but you will live in our hearts forever.. Through the tough times that you endured, you always seemed to keep a smile on your face or tell a joke of some kind.. You always saw the brighter side of things in every situations... You saw lessons where many saw disappointment... A good person gone too soon.. Te quiero mucho Tio. Vivieras en mi corazón por siempre. Los buenos tiempos que pasamos y las risas y chistes que nos gozamos nunca se irán de mis memorias que siempre cargare en mi corazón.. Hijo, Hermano, Padre, Padrino, Tío.. Fuiste gran persona en nuestros corazones y te amaremos por siempre. Espero que ya no estés sufriendo y que puedas caminar debajo de propias fuerzas en el cielo maravilloso de Dios... Mi querido Tio! El que nunca tenia un "no"para darme, el que siempre me llamaba primero el día de mi cumpleaños, el que siempre me recibía en su casa no importaba como, el que llegaba a donde yo estuviese con tal de verme, el que no importaba la hora siempre me contestaba el teléfono y me daba la bendición, con el que hablaba siempre para contarnos los últimos chismes familiares, el que siempre me decía lo orgulloso que se sentía de mi. Te extraño como jamas pensé que se podia extrañar a alguien. Se que ya no sufres de esa terrible enfermedad y que soy egoísta por quererte tener con nosotros cuando se que allá estas mejor. Estoy segura que todo el que te conoció aprendió a ver la vida diferente y sobretodo aprendimos a nunca darnos por vencidos. Estoy segura que ya estas disfrutando lo que en ya en vida no podías hacer. Y como siempre hablamos, se que estarás con papi entregándome en el altar el día de mi boda. I will love you forever!!!

You were always there for us no matter where we were stationed, both when my father was in the Army and even with Jackie in the Navy. You always made us know that we had family thinking of us. We will miss you always and while you left us early, you will always be in our hearts. I take comfort in knowing that you are free from pain and will never forget you! God bless you and may you rest in peace.

 You've always been an amazing man in my eyes and now I know that you and Dad are spending plenty of time together Reminiscing on your military days together and having a good old time no longer having to struggle or feel pain. I pray that I get to see you in our next life and want you to know that we love you so much and I miss you with all of our hearts.

                My Eulogy to my Beloved Grandpa
     Hi Everyone I'm Angelee Adorno, Amy Lugo's daughter. We are all here today to celebrate the life of Edwin Lugo Senior my gradfather. He was an amazing father to my mom and my uncle Edwin. They wouldn't be who they are today if it wasnt for my grandpa. I always used to hear my grandpa and my grandma bickering about something all the time. In my head im like "what's their problem" but the truth was thats how they connect,that was their bond,and thats how they loved each other. My gradfather gave me a bunch lectures and one of the lectures that stook out of my mind the most that he taught me was if i tryed hard enough in life I would be able to be successful. This lecture has a big impact in my life. I honestly regret not spending more time with him and saying i love you more. You end up noticing the things you didnt do with that specific person until they're gone. I remeber going to the movies with my grandpa and my mom. Before the movies we go eat at ZaZa's he gets a Cuban Sandwich, Cafe Con Leche, and a questio. Then we go to the movies he gets a hotdog, 2 boxes of candy, nachos,popcorn, and large fountain drink. He eats majority of the food and ends up falling asleep throughout the movie. When the movie is over he ends up waking up and asks my mom and I "was the movie good?". I will always cherish the memories that i had with him and he will always be in my heart forever.
                          I LOVE YOU GRANDPA.

Dear grandpa,
       I miss you so much. I pray everyday that your just home waiting for me to get to the house after school. When i ride the bus home i can just see your car in the drive way and i hope that your just there. I wear the necklace, the braclet, and the earrings you gave me Christmases ago. Sometimes i just walk into your room and i think that your just their watching tv. I know your in a better place probably even running but i just wish that we could of had more time with you. Im gonna tell vivienne all the memories that i have of you. Ashton misses you just like everybody else. I love you so much and i know that you are our familys guardian angel.

Our earlier entry was cut off for some unknown reason. Here's the complete message: Edwin was special. The U.S. Army recognized so when he was selected for Special Forces. He served with the 82nd Airborne Division, another elite unit. That talks a lot about his courage because not everyone is willing to jump out of a perfectly good airplane in flight. A parachutist has to carry all he needs for the fight so that talks about his physical fitness and willingness to endure hardship. A sergeant, has to always take care of his soldiers. A noncommissioned officer has to persist in the mission at the risk of his own life, conquer personal fears, and keep a brave face in front of the soldiers he leads. Edwin was a model soldier.
He carried those Army values into civilian life. Despite his acute medical condition, he never lost hope, always positive, with a genuine smile, he carried on the fight, many times alone, he went on with his daily duties. He was a real man and soldier, who did not let his condition stop him. He always put on a brave face. He was caring about those around him, with a will to carry on. Edwin leaves in us a Life lesson. He now rests in Peace, in the eternal life offered by Jesus Christ through his sacrifice on the cross at Calvary, the One who conquered death through resurrection. Thanks Edwin, you will always live in our hearts.

My Dearest Edwin,
You impacted my life from the first day I met you 20 years ago. I was fortunate to have had you in my life as a friend, mentor and husband. I will forever remember your smile, your singing outloud, dancing with you and your love for chocolates. Thank you for always being there for me, my family and for giving me Maggie. Maggie and I were blessed to have you in our lives. We will always love you and miss you. RIP my love.

Dear Edwin, it's with great sadness that I write these words today after finding out of your departure. I have great memories serving with you in the 82nd Airborne when we both were young and crazy. Your leadership, expertise and friendliness was always welcome by every Airborne soldier that knew you and served with you. We always felt safe when you were The Jump Master on any of our jumps. The lord took you from us too early my friend and I only wish we have reconnected here in Orlando after loosing contact for so many years. We'll see each other again at the final rally point Sky Soldier!! Airborne All the Way!!

Dearest Edwin, my family will always remember you as a GREAT man.  You were funny, patient, smart and Very Very Brave.  A Great Puerto Rican Man!

Recordaré siempre que a pesar de tu condición de salud aguda tu positivismo, entusiasmo y valentía nos serviste a todos de inspiración.
Recuerdo q siempre que te llamaba al menos una vez por semana y te preguntaba como te sientes me respondías "bien, como siempre, como coco" y en muy pocas ocasiones me decías "bien, como coco rancio". 
Me consta que fuiste un hombre fuerte, integro, excelente hermano, padre, tio y amigo. Recordaré ademas que siempre que te llamaba estabas contento y dispuesto a escucharme no importa lo que fuera y me dabas sabios consejos. No olvidaré nunca que cuando iba a Orlando querias ser el primero en buscarme. Recordaré siempre tu sonrisa y esas ganas de luchar en la vida a pesar de que no era nada fácil lo que te esperaba día a día. Si, voy a extrañarte muchísimo pero a la misma vez se, que ahora estás mucho mejor, descansas con papá Dios, mami, papi y otros que han partido al cielo; ya se acabo es lucha que tenías y que yo se que era muy fuerte para ti a pesar de que tu todo lo afrontabas con valentía y de manera positiva. Siempre serás mi fuente de inspiración para luchar en esta vida, aquí en la tierra y nos encontraremos otra vez en algún momento y volveremos a compartir como siempre mi hermanito querido, siempre estaras en mi corazon.

MY DEAR BROTHER, EDWIN, IS NOW FREE FROM PHYSICAL PAIN. I AM 
CERTAIN THAT HE IS ALREADY VISITING WITH MOM AND DAD IN HEAVEN.

HE WAS AN OPTIMIST. HE FACED THE TERRIBLE DISEASE OF MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS WITH COURAGE, EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. HE NEVER GAVE UP. EVEN WHEN IN PAIN, AND HE ALWAYS HAD A SMILE.

HE WAS A FATHER, AND A GRANDFATHER. HE WAS VERY PROUD OF HIS CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN, THEY WERE HIS PRIDE AND JOY. HE WAS, ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT THEM AND SHARING PROUDLY, PHOTOS OF THEM WITH ALL OF US.

EDWIN WAS A FAMILY MAN. HE ALWAYS REACHED OUT TO OUR UNCLES AUNTS, COUSINS, NEPHEWS AND NIECES, MUCH MORE OFTEN THAN ANY OF US. MY TWO SONS, WERNER AND MARK ADORED HIM.

HE WAS ALSO A GREAT  BROTHER. HE ALWAYS STAYED IN TOUCH WITH ALL OF US. HE VISITED ME IN EVERY LOCATION I WAS ASSIGNED FROM THE UNITED STATES TO EUROPE TO KOREA. IF HE KNEW I HAD A BIG HOME PROJECT, A FENCE, A CRAFT ROOM, HE WOULD ALWAYS FIND TIME TO COME AND HELP. WHEN I GOT PROMOTED ON MY FINAL PROMOTION IN THE ARMY, EDWIN AND MY WIFE PINNED MY EAGLES. A PROUD MOMENT BECAUSE OF MY PROMOTION, BUT EVEN PROUDER BECAUSE HE WAS THERE IN THIS VERY SPECIAL OCCASION.

EDWIN WAS AN AMERICAN PATRIOT.  HE SERVED HIS COUNTRY WITH 
DISTINCTION FOR TWENTY YEARS AS AN ARMY PARATROOPER, MOSTLY WITH THE 82ND AIRBORNE DIVISION, IN BOTH PEACE AND WARTIME.

WE ARE GOING TO MISS HIM DEARLY. HE LEAVES A HOLE IN OUR HEARTS, BUT KNOWING THAT HE NO LONGER FEELS PAIN AND IS IN A BETTER PLACE WILL GIVE US COMFORT.
