Barbara and Janice, I was totally shocked today to hear of Dot's passing away. I have a feeling no one still had my phone number. I had a feeling the last time I spoke with her she was not herself, without having anyone to call just had to wait to hear. I am so very sorry that I was not there for her funeral. She was like a mother to me more than anything. I even passed the house two days ago and seeing a car in the driveway I thought maybe I could hear how she was. I must say I feel that I have lost a friend as well as an aunt or a mother. She was always there for me years ago when we came to Fla. and my 16 years old passed away quickly. I was overjoyed to have someone like your mother to give me that listening ear when I so badly needed it. Your mother and our son are buried close to each other. I always walk over to see if things are OK there, and did it recently. I was sad when I felt she would never come home again. Please know that I loved your mom and do not know how I missed her obituary in the newspaper either. I will look at the photos now and so wonderful that you put them on. I am sure that she did not have an enemy. She was a wonderful Christian lady, and I admired her for so much. I have heard about the entire family and feel that I know every grandchild and daughters like my own family. She loved you all more than you will ever know. I pray that God will give you the comfort to know she is with HIM now, no more pain. I apologize again and hope all will understand me not calling or coming. Dot was so very special to our family. She was our wonderful and caring neighbor for almost 40 years. Her faith in our Lord Jesus was the strongest of anyone we have ever known.  Dot was uplifting and inspirational to us while were in some trying moments in our lives. We will miss her dearly and take comfort and joy knowing that she rests in His loving arms.

Ten years ago when I moved to orlando, God gave me the gift of a precious neighbor, Dorothy. She loved the Lord so much and was never at a loss for words to share about her faith and His goodness, she also shared plants and homemade treats with me. She could out work me in the yard any day. how we miss her. Dorothy if there is an empty lot next to your mansion in Heaven please put a hold on it for me Id love to be your neighbor for eternity, Love in our Lord, Rosa Thomas

Janice and Barbara, What a beautiful tribute of your Mom's life. She was such a joy to know. To me personally--she was my GBH (Georgia Baptist Hospital) buddy. I so appreciated the picture of her in her nursing uniform--proudly wearing the very same pin that I wear. My heart is warmed when I think of her beautiful smile and her wonderful hospitality-a beautiful southern lady--inside and out.

This is her neighbor, Dorothy was such a sweet woman of God, I had the apportunity of praying with her so many times. And enjoying tea with her, helping her in the front lawn and chatting with her. I loved looking at all the pictures, a lot of which I had never seen.  It just seemed like yesterday when we were just kids and Aunt Dot and Uncle Otis were in their Orlando home entertaining all of us.  Aunt Dot was one of the sweetest, most gracious ladies I've ever known and her sweet temperament reminded me so much of Grandma.  What a wonderful lady.  We will all miss her. What a beautiful video tribute to a lovely lady, surrounded by her supportive family and friends--it looked like alot of tender loving care went into that.
I am struggling w/the fact that I will be coming in 3 days after her service but being comforted in that prayer can accomplish much.  Thank you for surrounding Dorothy as you have; you have been a tremendous example for the rest of us to observe and emulate.  God bless you!
