August 18, 1941 - August 25, 2021
Charles John Gambino peacefully closed his eyes on earth and opened them in heaven to spend eternity with the Lord on August 25, 2021, following a brave two year battle with cancer. At the time of his death, he was at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 18, 1941 to Karl & Christine Gambino. He proudly served his country from 1961 to 1965 in the U.S. Army. In 1982, he married the love of his life, Linda. They moved to Florida shortly thereafter, and together, they made a wonderful loving home for their growing family. Charles' door was always open for friends and family. He was a man full of strength, courage, love and compassion. He had a big smile, a big laugh and an even bigger heart. His wisdom, humor and laughter always captured the room. He touched many lives and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family during holidays and celebrations. Charles was predeceased by his parents, Karl & Christine; his brother, Phillip; and his fur babies, Bella, Louis and Sandy. He is survived and dearly missed by his beloved wife of 39 years, Linda; his children, Charlene and her husband Travis, Lemuel and his wife Anna, Denise, Karla, Christopher and his wife Barbara; his sisters, Bernadette and her husband, Patrick; and Geraldine; his aunt and uncle, Jenny and Albert Scheiler; nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
