Having been born and raised in Orlando, Carol lived in Florida her whole life. Childhood for Carol brought many happy experiences as the youngest of 3 children. She deeply loved her parents who taught her hospitality and kindness, which she exuded and blessed others with her whole life. She enjoyed so much about the Florida life – being on the water, at the beach, in the sun, and on her bike. In fact, as a young adult she swam with the sharks and performed as a pearl diver at Sea World. She was a staunch FSU football fan, watched every game possible, and fervently shouted the FSU chant after every touchdown. As a sister she was warm, welcoming, and generous, ready with her smile or wise counsel whenever needed. As a daughter Carol was supportive, encouraging, original, competitive, and sensitive but most of all she was fun to be around because her attitude and demeanor sparkled just like her beautiful smile.
Known for her advocacy for others, professionally Carol flourished at GES, negotiating with customers all over the world. She mentored many with wisdom and grace, spreading the light of Christ to all in her circle of influence. With her infectious smile she made friends with all her colleagues. Close friendships grew into opportunities for personal travel and fun experiences.
Carol and Richard enjoyed 21 years of dating and marriage and were each other’s best friend. God drew them together, was at the center of their relationship, and kept their love and commitment to one another steadfast. Together, they enjoyed many fun times with family and friends, travels from coast-to-coast and around the world, and joyfully hosted many gatherings as a perfect team. Her stepdaughters knew her as a knowledgeable mentor, generous, faithful, and fiercely dedicated.
Diagnosed in 2015 with an aggressive form of multiple sclerosis, Carol fought valiantly and with dignity, trusting God for strength and grace. She accepted the disease, never complaining, adopting the motto, “I’m taking one half day at a time.” All who knew her have gleaned numerous lessons for living life with unwavering faith, strength, courage, and love. Richard and all her family are excited to know she is whole, free of MS, and free to ride her bike into eternal glory.
