Betty Doris Wright

Betty Doris Wright, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at age 88. Betty was born to Luther and Louise Cameron and was the devoted, eldest sister of Joyce Caudill, Paulette Palmer and Janie Rickert.

An avid reader and advocate for children, Betty dedicated her life’s work to elementary education. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University of Ohio and a master’s degree from the University of Central Florida. After teaching in Ohio for five years, she moved to Florida where she was a revered classroom teacher and media specialist at English Estates Elementary for 29 years before retiring.

Betty’s unwavering faith served as a steady source of strength and inspiration during both challenging and joyful times. She was a dedicated member of her church, Faith Assembly of God in Orlando, for over 30 years.

She considered her family her greatest blessing. Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Lawrence Wright, her parents and her daughter Lisa Wright DaSilva.

She is survived by her children Randy Wright (Jan), Kay Anness, Shelly Whidden (Bill) and Cindy Wright and her grandchildren Jennifer Wolfinger (Rob), Carrie Lawhorn, Courtney Anness, Chris Evans (Kandace), Lindsey Buffone (Thomas) and Samantha Wheeler (Beck) as well as her three sisters. Her legacy will continue with her great grandchildren Brandon Lawhorn, Owen Wolfinger, Caleb Wolfinger, Roman Fiorenza, Avery Evans, Emmett Evans, Leah Buffone and Baby Wheeler, expected to arrive December 2020.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home at Chapel Hill Cemetery at 2420 Harrell Road in Orlando. Guests may begin arriving at 1 pm. Please note, COVID-19 preventative measures will be followed including the use of masks.
