Barbra Sue Trombly, of Orlando Florida, passed away at home on August 7, 2023 at the age of 87. Born in St. Petersburg, Florida to Floyd and Mary Wittstruck, she was the third of 10 siblings. Four of her siblings have predeceased her – Mary Ann Shaffer, Thomas Wittstruck, Sarah Wittstruck, and Martha Wilson.
She was raised in St. Petersburg Florida and graduated from Saint Pete High School. She attended College at Wesleyan and entered a career in teaching. Shortly thereafter, she traveled to Goosebay Labrador to teach at the U.S. military base there.
She met Claude Andrew Trombly, who was stationed there serving in the Air Force. They fell in love and married on June 14, 1963. They traveled the world together, raising a family as he served in the Air Force. They ended up in Orlando, Florida in 1974 when Claude retired from the Air Force, where they lived for the rest of their lives. They were happily married for over 58 years (until his passing in January 2022).
She returned to teaching in 1984 at Saint John Vianney Catholic school, retiring in 1997.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved God and her family above all else. She was a kind and gentle woman, who unselfishly cared for everyone she loved.
She is survived by five children – Claudia Trombly, John Trombly, Thomas Trombly, Margaret Palmer, and Katherine Kwaterski, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and another one coming any day. She is also survived by Five siblings – William Wittstruck, Harriet Wills, Frances Habecher, Carole Wittstruck, and James Wittstruck
