The last several days have been  difficult for my mother, my siblings and  the family at large. We’ve had discussions, reminisces, laughter, tears and hugs as we continue to cope  with our loss. Popi prepared us for this.  It lessens the pain yet the pain is still there. He is the greatest man I’ve ever known, my hero, my champion.  While I  won’t receive his benediction in person any longer, he is in eternal peace and we are all better people for having had him in our lives. Popi, you fought the good fight. You stayed as long as you could but you’ve been called home to Heaven.  The dream you shared of being alongside your father who was sporting a straw hat is seared into my consciousness. What a beautiful image.  I’ll be okay. It takes time. You taught us well with your example. Love, Junior

I am blessed to have Don Antonio  as My father in law.  The proverb above reminds me of the many discussions we had regarding his beliefs  on  family. He loved Elsa, his children, grand children and great grandchildren immensely.   His advice, wisdom, love, beautiful smile  and kindness will be treasured in my heart forever.  The lessons he taught us about Compassion,, acceptance and religion will be carried on for generations to come.   Te queremos mucho Don Antonio. 

Having grown up away from my Berrios side of my Family with very little contact with my Grandmother as a child, words cannot explain what meeting Antonio and Elsa means to me, I see him as my bridge to a Familia I did not know I have or knew that existed , he answered many questions I had but most importantly he showed me that I inherited much of my Character from the Berrios bloodline. It did not take much talking to see how much of a leader , great husband and father he was. I would have Loved to have grown up looking up to such an amazing man but I take great comfort in knowing that the desire of leading, being a good father and husband is embedded in my DNA this is what I learned with Antonio, He is my Bridge and I will be forever thankful for his words of wisdom, for welcoming my wife, children and I into his warm home full of Love ❤️. 

I had the pleasure of meeting Don Tony in 1989. He was  a loving,  kind man that was always offering his words of wisdom. I remember many conversations with him about a lot of different topics. He loved to talk about Puerto Rico and the politics on the island. Although, we hadn’t seen each other much lately, I remember him fondly. He leaves a legacy and a wonderful  family. I will always remember his great sense of humor and his beautiful smile. You will be missed! ❤️😔 May your soul Rest In Peace. Our condolences and prayers to the family.
