Born in San Lorenzo, PR, Angel moved with his mother to the Bronx, NY. He taught himself to speak English by sneaking into movies. There, he attended Samuel L. Gompers Technical School, majoring in electronics, before enlisting in the US Marine Corps, by which time he was fluently bilingual in English and Spanish. He achieved the rank of Lance Corporal before being honorably discharged and earning secondary diplomas from the state of New York and the United States Armed Forces Institute, respectively.
He held leadership positions at various NJ companies: Ariston; Economy Color Card; Artistic Creations, Silverline Window, HG Edwards Window & Door.
Angel was a member of American Legion Post 140 in Millburn, NJ; Marine Corps League West Hudson Detachment in Kearny, NJ; and served as Senior Vice Commandant at the September 11 Detachment in Kissimmee, FL.
Angel obtained his Florida Real Estate license, sold residential and commercial real estate. He lived in Kissimmee, FL with his wife Maria for 21 years. They owned and managed several investment homes before deciding to let go of their real estate holdings and go into retirement. They enjoyed traveling during these years.
Angel was an expert marksman and an avid gun collector. He is lovingly remembered for his poetry in both English and Spanish, and his drawings, which he shared with family and friends. He dabbled in the accordion and harmonica.
Angel L. Rosa is survived by his wife Maria Valdez; his brother Pedro Rosa, sister-in-law Jeanette; his son Jeffrey Rosa; daughter Doreen Fontana and son-in-law Joseph Fontana; daughter Michelle Raybeck, son-in-law Stephen Raybeck and grandson Ian Raybeck; daughter Beth Oliveira and her partner Anthony Valera, granddaughter Aneliese Oliveira, grandson Jayden Oliveira, former wife and mother of his children Sheila Rosa. Furthermore, he is survived by his stepchildren Jose Febus, Anibal Febus Jr., Maria Febus-Garcia and her husband Ray Garcia; grandchildren Demetrio Febus, Cristian Febus, Sophia Bernard, Matthew Bernard, Jonathan Bernard and his wife Mariana, great grandson Jaiden Bernard. And more loving family and friends too numerous to list any further.
