T. Mark Poulos passed away on August 26, 2019 after a valiant fight. Devoted husband, best friend and soulmate of Deborah (nee Stanton); loving and greatest father to Nicole Himmelman, Mark (Jamie) Poulos and faithful K9 companion Shelby; cherished OPA of the lights of his life Maeve Himmelman and Gavin Poulos; step grandfather of Katherine Kinch; loved son of the late Theodore Poulos and the late Helen Poulos; beloved brother of Denise (John) Christakes, Michael (Sherry) Poulos, and the late Kukla Poulos; fond son-in-law to the late William and the late LaVerne Stanton; dear brother-in-law to Bill, Mike, and Jim Stanton, Diane (Charles) McKeown, LaVerne (Rick) Lathus, and the late Patricia (the late Robert) Hansen; adored uncle of Jamie (Jennifer) Christakes, Sandy Dominik, Lexie (Dave) Brown, Chelsea, Josh, and Jake Poulos, Richard, Ryan, and Randy Lathus, James, Matthew, and Kiersten Hansen; amazing great uncle to Jonah Newton, Luke and Nola Dominik, Callen and Mckenzie Brown; best cousin to Cindy (Patty) Lambrakis, Pete (Pattie) Lambrakis, Jenny and Chris Mulqueeny and the late Nick (Carol) Mulqueeny and also many others; best friend to many especially to George (Diane) Vopinek and Jill (Andy) Fredona.
T. Mark was an integral part of Theo's Jewelers for over 40 years. He enjoyed the simple things in life, his family always came first. He loved to open up his home to family and friends especially for St. Patrick Day parties where everyone was welcome. He enjoyed his time with his neighbors George and Rita Rothgery, Tom and Janet Kruse, and Mike and Sherita Meno. He had a heart of gold and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the La Grange Firefighters Association IAFF Local 2338 benefit fund (300 West Burlington Avenue, La Grange, Illinois 60525) where his son Mark, who he was so proud of, is a firefighter. Or donation may be made to St. Iakovos Greek Orthodox Church, 36 W. 700 N. Valparaiso, Indiana 46385.
Visitation Thursday, August 29th 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Orland Funeral Home, 9900 West 143rd Street, Orland Park with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Father James Greanias presiding. Friday, August 30th family and friends will gather from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. prayer service at Orland Funeral Home. Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park.
