Stanley D. Price age 84, Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie Ann Price (nee King). Loving dad of S. Douglas(Nancy) Price of Park Forest, IL., Deb(Nancy) Bennett of Flagstaff, AZ., David(Linda) Price of Chicago, IL., Stephanie (Lawrence) Nejman of Hillsborough, NJ., and Kathy (Michael) White of Westchester, IL. Loving Pawpaw of 12 grandchildren and cherished great Pawpaw of 5. Dear brother of the late Elizabeth(the late William) Polman. Stanley was a renowned salesman in the paper industry and as a senior vice president helped Chicago-based Stone Container become a leader in container board and box manufacturing, navigating the bond-driven corporate mergers of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. A civil rights activist, who with his wife, was a founder of Respond Now, a social service organization that still serves the immigrant community and many others in the South Suburbs. His faith-based political activism included participation in the 1967 campaign of the first African-American to run for office in Chicago Heights, Il and led to invitations to help in the 1967 Gary, IN mayoral campaign which resulted in one of the first African-Americans elected to lead a major U.S. city. An avid golfer, he encouraged by example and enthusiasm the sports experiences of his children and grandchildren. Visitation Friday from 3-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday 10:15 a.m. prayers at the Orland Funeral Home, 9900 W. 143rd St. Orland Park, IL 60462 to St. Michael Church for Mass at 10:45 a.m. Interment: Good Shepherd Cemetery.
