Margaret Mary "Bubs" Dooling (nee Haffner) of Homer Glen, passed away peacefully, January 11, 2017 at her home. Born August 24, 1928 in Chicago, Margaret Mary is the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Eileen Agnes (Malone) Haffner. She was raised in Chicago, attended Little Flower Grammar School and graduated from Mercy High School. On June 14, 1952, Margaret Mary married the love of her life, William Edward Dooling in St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church. She earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Chicago State University. Margaret Mary taught in the Chicago Public Schools for 34 years as a proud member of the Chicago Teachers Union. She was a member of Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Parish in Homer Glen. Margaret Mary will be remembered as a woman devout in her faith, who cherished her family and friends. Margaret Mary was the loving mother of The Honorable Deborah Mary Dooling, Karen Mary (Leo) Reeves, Janice Mary (John) Mierzwa, Margaret Mary Dooling-Baker (Mark Baker), Catherine Mary Dooling, and Eileen Mary (Vince) Schmidt; grandmother of James Reeves, Alex Reeves (Fiancé - Jessie Austin), Joseph (Courtney) Reeves, Will Mierzwa, Elizabeth Baker (Fiancé - Dylan Timmer), Margaret Baker, Abigail Plecki, Caroline Plecki, and Ashley Schmidt; sister of Charles (Patricia) Haffner and George (Norberta) Haffner, and sister-in-law to: Samuel Levin, Dr. William F. Malone and Timothy (Jolana) Dooling, as well as aunt to many. Margaret Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Edward Dooling; granddaughter Catherine Mary Dooling and two sisters: Lois H. Levin and Eileen A. Malone. Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Orland Funeral Home, 9900 West 143rd Street in Orland Park. The family will then receive friends Tuesday morning, January 17th at Our Mother of Good Counsel Parish, 16043 S. Bell Road in Homer Glen from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Joseph Broudou, O.S.A. and Abbot Leo M. Ryska O.S.B. will officiate. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip, where Margaret Mary will be laid to rest with her late husband.
