David Savickas

He was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 9th, 1940. Dr. David F. Savickas graduated from De La Salle and received his Bachelors degree from St Mary University in Minnesota and then later received a PHD from Michigan State University. Dr. David F. Savickas was a professor of physics and taught at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA and taught at the University of Western New England University and dedicated 50 years to teaching his students. Dr. David had a passion for classical music and had a broad interest in art from the renaissance and the impressionists. He had a passion for physics and published several papers on the Theory of Relativity.

Dr. David Savickas was the son on Frank and Elizabeth Savickas, brother of James Joseph Savickas, uncle to Michael L. Savickas, and Tracy Rumchak, Theresa Cullen, and Daniel Savickas.

A visitation for David will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Orland Funeral Home, 9900 W 143RD ST, ORLAND PARK, IL 60462. A prayer service will occur Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 9900 W 143RD ST, ORLAND PARK, IL 60462. A burial will occur Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at St Casimir Catholic Cemetery, 4401 W 111th St, Chicago, IL 60655.
