Rose Ann Burke, age 77, of Orange Park, FL passed away on October 1, 2023. She was born on August 11, 1946, in Dennison, OH, to the late Bernice Marie and John Earnest Pierce. Rose Ann was a devoted Christian woman who deeply believed in God. Rose Ann worshipped at The Pentecostals of Orange Park in Orange Park, FL.
Rose Ann was young at heart and loved to be involved in activities with her children and grandchildren. She was known for her feisty and stubborn nature, which endeared her to those who knew her best. In her free time, Rose Ann enjoyed crocheting, doll collecting, spoiling her toy poodle, Pierre, and cherished every moment spent with her family.
Rose Ann is survived by her sisters Sandra Sue Eichel and Michelle Rieder. She is also survived by her devoted children: daughter Barbara (Mark) Engelkes, son Charles (Kelly) McGrath, daughter Christina (Mark) Robb, daughter Lorrie (Bill) Nesemeier, and daughter Jeannine (Paul) Hope. Rose Ann leaves behind a legacy of 17 grandchildren: Kristin (Richard) Roper, Caleb (Michael) Engelkes, Stephanie (Brett) Cahill, Becci (Rachel) McGrath, Kendra (Josh) McGrath, Brandon (Judi) Crouch, Brianna (Adam) Barton, Bryant Crouch, Brittany (Ben) Gulans, Danielle (Matt) Jordan, Joshua McGrath, Chelsea (Seth) Hargan, Eric Francis, Benjamin Hope, and Sabrina (Michael) Roland. Rose Ann also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren: Sage, Kaden, Rylie, Bryson, Skye, Alexis, McKenna, Carter, Rylan, Ava, Mason, Vivian, Clay, Dax, and Walter.
Rose Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Burke, her grandson Aaron Walter McGrath, and her grandson Bruce Charles Robb. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Daisy Fowler, Patricia Roush, Virginia Biclawski, and Barbara Turner.
Rose Ann had a diverse educational history. She attended primary and high school in Midvale, OH. She obtained her GED in 1976 from Rochelle, IL. She furthered her education by completing a Microcomputers course at Sauk Valley College in Dixon, IL in 1984. In the same year she also passed the Postal Exam. In 1994, Rose Ann completed a Certified Nursing Assistant course in Tampa, FL and attended the Educational Training Center to become a Medical Front Office Specialist in Jacksonville, FL.
Throughout her career, Rose Ann worked at various establishments. She was employed at Brody Coat Factory in Sycamore, IL, and Aigners Paper Company in Rochelle, IL. She also worked as a can line inspector at Del Monte Canning Plant. In Jacksonville, FL, Rose Ann utilized her skills as a Medical Front Office Specialist. She later became an Instructor for Medical Billing and Coding at Everest University in Jacksonville, FL.
Rose Ann will be laid to rest in the Pierce family plot in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Zanesville, OH, at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023.
